Magazine honors Yeatman as leader in improving health care

Jeanne Yeatman, MBA, BSN, EMT

Jeanne Yeatman, MBA, BSN, EMT, director of Vanderbilt LifeFlight, has been named by HealthLeaders magazine as one of its top 20 people across the nation who is “changing health care for the better.”

The annual HealthLeaders 20 list profiles people who are playing a crucial role in making the health care industry better.

Yeatman is the only Tennessean on the list, and the only person representing the air medical industry.

Yeatman was selected in part for some of the innovative programs that she and her Vanderbilt LifeFlight team have put into place recently to break down barriers between health care providers. One such program, iFly, allows paramedics, emergency physicians and nurses to learn more about care delivery by accompanying the patient from the scene back to Vanderbilt.

“We are extremely honored that Jeanne has been recognized for her insight and creative approach to problem solving,” said Brent Lemonds, M.S., R.N., administrative director of Emergency Services for Vanderbilt. “She is a fantastic leader and Vanderbilt is fortunate to have her leading such a vital part of our organization.”

Yeatman oversees a staff of more than 150 professionals and five divisions, which include a wide range of emergency transportation services including helicopter, airplane, ground ambulance, Event Medicine and Communications.
