Barnes & Noble at Vanderbilt will host a book signing for Charity Maness, author of It’s Lonely Here in Hell: Love Letters from Nam” on Dec. 2, 4-7 p.m.
Maness’ book is based on the life of Jim Piper, brother of Gary Piper, senior LAN manager at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
The book chronicles letters from Jim to his young wife from the time he was drafted into the Army in 1966 until his death in 1967 just days before his 20th birthday.
Jim’s widow, Micki, will be attend the signing.
Barnes & Noble at Vanderbilt is located at 2501 West End Avenue in Nashville.
Books will be available on site for purchase.
