An exhibit of John Folsom’s archival prints is on display at Sarratt Gallery Sept. 1-30. A talk and reception will take place Thursday, Sept. 8, at 5 p.m. at the gallery.
The Georgia-based Folsom is concerned with evocative landscapes that explore the relationship between collective memory and how identity is created. His work is based in photography but uses traditional paint media that recalls painters of the 19th century. The images move the viewer beyond their specific geography to achieve a sense of place and personal memory.
