Au Bon Pain has opened a grab-and-go café at the Vanderbilt University Law School, offering law students, faculty, staff and other visitors healthy, fresh food options.

The renovated café, which is located on the main level, offers pre-made sandwiches with a European flair, including caprese on baguette and chicken pesto on rosemary focaccia.

Salads and snacks, such as fresh fruit and yogurt parfaits, as well as a hot soup bar and a variety of cupcakes and other baked goods also are offered.

Menu items are marked with caloric content. Sandwiches and salads are priced around $5-$8.

A larger-scale Au Bon Pain opened June 21 at the former McDonalds on Medical Center Plaza. It was the Boston-based chain’s first location in the Southeast.

The law school is located at 131 21st Ave. S. Hours are 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday-Friday.
