Makeover classes for cancer patients set for Aug. 15by Dagny Stuart Aug. 10, 2011, 11:47 AM
The seminar, called “Look Good…Feel Better,” will be held 1 to 3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 15, in the Patient and Family Resource Center, Room 1700AB, The Vanderbilt Clinic, at 1301 Medical Center Dr.
Patients with all forms of cancer who are undergoing chemotherapy are invited, no matter where they may be receiving treatment.
During the American Cancer Society-sponsored seminar, patients will receive hair and makeup tips tailored to the kinds of issues cancer patients routinely face. Participants learn how to draw their own eyebrows and apply makeup to give an impression of eyelashes. They receive tips on dealing with skin problems caused by radiation and chemotherapy.
Patients also learn how to cope with thinning or missing hair using inexpensive, easy to manage head gear.
Each participant is given a free supply of brand-name cosmetics and other products worth hundreds of dollars. Seating is limited. For more information or to register, please call 615-322-9799 or contact Kimberly.email@example.com.
