April 21 presentation: Health care and retirement planning

There will be a presentation on the financial impact of health care coverage on retirement planning noon to 1 p.m. April 21 in the auditorium of the Bishop Joseph Johnson Black Cultural Center.

The speakers are Sherry Stevens of Jackson and Associates, a financial planning firm working independently with Vanderbilt faculty and staff for more than 25 years, and Mark Singer of Tennessee SHIPS and the Greater Nashville Area Agency on Aging and Disability.

Specific benefits of MediGap and Medicare Advantage Plans along with prescription drug coverage options will be discussed.

The presentation is part of the The Margaret Cuninggim Women’s Center’s Do-It-Yourself (DIY) workshop series. At VanDIY, participants will learn practical skills related to a variety of interesting personal and professional topics.

This month’s workshop is co-sponsored by the Black Cultural Center.

Lunch is provided. This workshop is free and open to any member of the Vanderbilt community. RSVP required; only the first 30 people who register can be accommodated.
