Join runners, joggers and walkers of all skill levels for a five-mile event on Saturday, April 2 – the Richland Creek Run V. Vanderbilt is among the principal sponsors.
Each of the last four years, West Nashville neighborhoods Sylvan Park, Cherokee Park, Cherokee Crossing, Richland-West End and White Bridge, along with Montgomery Bell Academy, have come together in a community effort to raise awareness and funds for Greenways for Nashville, a 501(c) 3 not-for-profit organization. Through the first four years, the event has raised more than $31,000.
“The event is important not only for the funds it raises for Greenways, but also for its bringing neighborhoods together around a common cause of community improvement,” notes event chair Jason Holleman, Metro Council representative for the 24th district.
Race Director F. Clark Williams, from the Office of the Dean of Students at Vanderbilt, observed, “We have a lot of participants returning year after year, which makes us think we are doing something right with regard to the course — and probably our signature Hatch Show Print T-shirts.”
The run begins at 8 a.m. at the Cohn School (48th Ave. N. at Park Ave.) Pre-registration is $20 (or $27 if the participant wants a fifth anniversary commemorative technical shirt), and day of registration is $25. Participants may register by visiting to download the registration form, or to click on the link to the online registration form at the Nashville Sports Authority site.
The run is presented by Wilson Real Estate Services. Other sponsors include, Publix, Pinnacle Financial Partners, Bates Nursery and Garden Center, and Sport Seasons.
