Legendary rock group U2 will bring their U2 360 tour to Vanderbilt Stadium on Saturday, July 2.
The Dublin, Ireland, band, renowned for anthems including Sunday Bloody Sunday and Bullet the Blue Sky, will perform at a show beginning at 7 p.m. The opening act will be Florence and The Machine. It will be U2’s first return to Nashville and Vanderbilt since Dec. 2, 1981.
Ticket prices will range from $30 to $250.
Members of the Vanderbilt community can participate in a presale from 10 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28. To participate in the presale, go to http://www.vanderbilt.edu/u2 and log in with VUNetID and e-password. A password for members of the Vanderbilt community and a link to the Vanderbilt presale area are available on that site. The presale area link will allow users to purchase tickets beginning at 10 a.m. Oct. 28. Members of the Vanderbilt community may purchase up to four tickets during the presale.
Tickets for the general public go on sale 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 29, and will be available through www.livenation.com, Ticketmaster outlets including the Sarratt Box Office or by calling 1 (800) 745-3000. There will be an eight-ticket per person limit Oct. 29.
With a cylindrical video system of interlocking LED panels, and a steel structure rising 150 feet from the floor over a massive stage with rotating bridges, U2 has created an intimate 360-degree experience for concertgoers, which affords an unobstructed view for the audience.
Vanderbilt Stadium hosted a concert by Pink Floyd in 1994 and another by The Rolling Stones in 1997.
