The Music, Authority and Community research project, in partnership with the ALIAS Chamber Ensemble, has commissioned a piece of original music from award-winning composer Gabriela Lena Frank. The piece will be premiered in October by ALIAS, which includes musicians from the Blair School. Meanwhile, Vanderbilt faculty members Jennifer Lena and Jonathan Neufeld are bringing together researchers from across campus to study relationships of authority in musical communities.
