MEDIA ADVISORY: Leader of U.S. Central Command Gen. David Petraeus available to media before March 1 event at Vanderbilt

The current chief of the United States Central Command and the former top U.S. commander in Iraq, Army Gen. David Petraeus, will speak about his actions as commander of the surge in Iraq, the role of U.S. forces overseas and the latest developments in the surge. The event will be held Monday, March 1, at 5 p.m. at the Student Life Center.

A media availability will be held at 2 p.m. for credentialed media and risers will be provided for cameras during the event. Media must have credentials for both events. To receive credentials, please contact the Vanderbilt News Service before March 1. More detailed information on specific security procedures will be sent out closer to the event.

The event is free and open to the public, but currently all tickets have been claimed. However, the speech will be streamed live at www.vanderbilt.edu/news.
