Vanderbilt University has named Michael Brown associate director of the Office of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Intersex Life.
Brown joins Vanderbilt from Washington University in St. Louis, where he was the coordinator for LGBT Student Involvement and Leadership for the past two years. He is also the treasurer for the National Consortium of LGBT Higher Education Resource Professionals and a faculty member for Campus Pride LGBT Leadership Camp, which takes place annually at Towson University in Maryland. He holds a master’s degree in education from Iowa State University and a bachelor’s degree in economics from New York University.
The Office of LGBTQI Life is a cultural center and resource for information and support about gender and sexuality. It serves all members of the Vanderbilt community – students, faculty, staff, and alumni – by creating educational, cultural and social opportunities. The office also supports and advises LGBTQI-related campus groups and activities.
