Health care business leaders and experts tackle hot button issues in health care

Right now our country is in the middle of one of the biggest health care reform debates in decades. It’s a debate that will dramatically impact individuals, governments and businesses of all sizes. Where do some of the biggest health care business leaders stand on the issues? What is the real future of health care delivery? Is President Obama’s reform plan the right way to go?

These are just some of the hot-button issues that will be debated and discussed at the Health Care Business Alliance hosted by the Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management. This year’s Health Care Business Alliance, titled “Leading Change: the Future of Health Care,” will be held at the Loews Vanderbilt Hotel on Friday, Oct. 2.

The HCBA offers current and future health care leaders a dynamic opportunity to discuss issues and create solutions to the health care industry’s sustainability, growth outlook, latest challenges and future innovations of this vital industry.

The event includes three prominent health care business leaders as keynote speakers and a series of topical panels. The keynotes are George Barrett, chairman and CEO of Cardinal Health; Wayne Smith, chairman and CEO of Community Health Systems; and Randall Spratt, Chief Information Officer and Chief Technology Officer of McKesson Corporation.

Some of the panel discussions include:

• Debating Obama’s Health Care Reform
• 2020: The Future of Health Care Delivery
• Financial Life Support: Maintaining Bottom Line Health
• Consumerism in Health Care: The Resuscitation of Patient Involvement

The HCBA will also include a health care company fair with on-site interviews. Nashville is recognized around the world as a leader in the health care industry.
