MEDIA ADVISORY: Glow-in-the-dark games, drumming and candle display to highlight Vanderbilt University students’ participation in Earth Hour March 28

Vanderbilt students are getting into the spirit of Earth Hour on Saturday, March 28. They will join millions of people around the world and here in Nashville who are turning out lights to draw attention to climate change.

The Vanderbilt students have a number of special activities planned for the hour of darkness, including:

WHAT: Chill Out in the Dark party with acoustic music, an 18-foot soy candle display and glow-in-the-dark Frisbee

WHERE: Alumni Lawn (Behind Kirkland Hall. Pull into parking lot across from 23rd Ave. N. and walk into campus.)

WHEN: 8:30 to 9:30 p.m.

WHAT: Dark Out Drumline featuring the Spirit of Gold marching band drums and African drumming

WHERE: Commons Lawn, in front of The Commons Center at 18th Ave. and Appleton Place

WHEN: 8:30 to 9 p.m. Spirit of Gold marching band drums; 9 to 9:30 p.m. African drumming
