The son of the namesake of The Cal Turner Program for Moral Leadership in the Professions at Vanderbilt Divinity School will speak during a Feb. 26 breakfast about lessons learned from a leadership challenge.
Cal Turner Jr., former CEO, chairman and president of Dollar General Corporation, will lead a Leadership Breakfast from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Feb. 26 at the University Club of Nashville, 2402 Garland Ave.
The event, which costs $10 for Vanderbilt students and $20 for all others, is open to the general public. Pre-registration is required to attend, and can be done at www.vanderbilt.edu/moral_leadership. Audio of the event will be recorded for podcast on VUCast, the website of Vanderbilt News Service, at www.vanderbilt.edu/news/.
Turner, chairman of the Cal Turner Family Foundation and co-author of the upcoming book Led to Follow, followed his father as leader of Dollar General and adopted a mission to serve others through his work. He is committed to community development and theological education and is an active supporter of programs at Vanderbilt Divinity School including the Cal Turner Program for Moral Leadership.
Future Leadership Breakfast speakers include former Sen. Bill Frist on March 26.
