Robert Merton, John and Nancy Arthur University Professor, Harvard Business School, the 1997 Nobel laureate in Economics and co-author with Myron Scholes and Fischer Black of two landmark financial studies that have had an unprecedented influence on the theory and practice of modern-day finance, spoke on the current tumult in the financial markets and the future of financial innovation.
