Celebrated African-American filmmaker Charles Burnett visited the Vanderbilt campus Oct. 17. The noted independent film director’s credits include “My Brother’s Wedding” and “Killer of Sheep” as well as “To Sleep with Anger.”
Vanderbilt faculty members participating in the conversation with Burnett include Paul Young, associate professor and director of Film Studies Program, and Jason Borge, assistant professor, Department of Spanish and Portuguese.
This event was held in conjunction with the International Black Film Festival (Oct. 15-19) and was sponsored by the Bishop Joseph Johnson Black Cultural Center, Film Studies Program, Office of the Dean of Students, and Office of the Vice Chancellor for Public Affairs.
