A message from David Williams about the Auburn game

A message from David Williams, vice chancellor for university affairs and athletics:

We are thrilled with the opportunity to bring Vanderbilt University and Commodore football into the homes of millions of sports fans across the nation this weekend. It is a golden moment that allows all of us to showcase our great University at its best.

ESPN has brought its highly rated College GameDay show to our campus. With its popular personalities of Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit, Lee Corso and Desmond Howard, we anticipate thousands of students and fans will gather at our beautiful Commons for the fun. There are two key time periods for the show: Friday from 3:30-3:50 p.m. and the main program, which runs Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Parking information and directions are posted on our official web site, www.vucommodores.com.

Of course the main event is the game with Auburn, which kicks off at 5:00 p.m. Saturday. Be there early and be prepared to support the ‘Dores! A Parent’s Weekend crowd has had the stadium sold out for weeks; in fact this game has become one of the toughest tickets in anyone’s memory.

Let’s work together as we go forward; it’s a great time to be a Commodore!
