The most senior female executive at Tiffany & Co. will be on campus Jan. 26 as the featured speaker at the first networking conference of the student-run Women’s Business Association at Vanderbilt’s Owen Graduate School of Management.
The student organizers hope the conference will serve as a forum for women to share success stories, discuss issues and challenges, and broaden their network.
The event begins with a networking fair on Friday, Jan. 25, from 6 to 9:30 p. m. Beth Canavan, executive vice president of the internationally renowned American jeweler, will speak Saturday morning, Jan. 26, at 9.
Canavan is responsible for retail, corporate and direct marketing sales in the U.S. and Canada, as well as retail store expansion. During her talk, she will share her perspective on the challenges facing women in business.
A series of panel discussions following her talk will explore such topics as managing a dual-income household; re-entry into the workforce; successfully managing careers at various turning points in life; how to succeed as a female business leader in a male-dominated environment; and a discussion of how to enhance your MBA skills set as your career grows.
All of the sessions will be held at the Student Life Center at Vanderbilt.
