Rick Chappell, director of Dyer Observatory, talks with Bill Sheehan on the anniversary of what would have been E.E. Barnard’s 150th birthday. Dr. Sheehan is the author of The Immortal Fire Within, the definitive biography on Barnard who is one of the world’s most famous astronomers. Dr. Sheehan examines Barnard’s life–his humble beginnings, his historic discoveries, his time at Vanderbilt and his famous photographs of the Milky Way.
