Mayoral candidates Bob Clement and Karl Dean will make their cases for becoming Nashville’s chief executive during at an hour-long, live televised debate Saturday, Aug. 25, at 7 p.m. at Vanderbilt University. The event, which will be held in Ingram Hall at Vanderbilt’s Blair School of Music, is part of the Young Voters Debate Series, a bi-partisan, cross-cultural effort of the Davidson County Young Democrats, the Davidson County Young Republicans, Urban League Young Professionals of Middle Tennessee, the Nashville Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Nashville Area Junior Chamber of Commerce. NewsChannel 5, WTVF-TV, and the Nashville Scene are also sponsoring the event that will be televised live on NewsChannel 5. Non-CBS stations can record the program off air from NewsChannel 5.

WHEN: 7 to 8 p.m.
CREDENTIALS: To cover the forum, media must register by noon on Friday, Aug. 24, with Princine Lewis at 615-322-2706. Pick up your credentials at Ingram Hall (side lobby entrance facing 24th Avenue South near the loading dock) from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25. In order for the forum to start on time, the doors to Ingram Hall will be shut at 6:40 p.m. Seating for media will be provided inside Ingram Hall – an audio mult box will be provided. A media work room will be provided with a television and wireless Internet access – there will not be land line phone access in the room.
CANDIDATES: Candidates will be available to media following the debate.
