Vanderbilt Baseball awarded No. 1 national seed

The Vanderbilt Commodores were named the No. 1 national seed in the 64 team NCAA baseball tournament field in an announcement televised by ESPN May 28. The announcement came on the heels of the team’s crowning as SEC regular-season and tournament champions May 27.

The No. 1 seed means Vanderbilt will be a regional host for the NCAA Tournament for the first time in school history. The Commorores will host No. 2 seed Michigan, No. 3 seed Memphis and No. 4 seed Austin Peay at Hawkins Field June 1-4.
