Douglas Schmidt is professor of computer science, associate chair of the computer science and engineering program, and a senior researcher in Vanderbilt’s Institute for Software Integrated Systems (ISIS). He has published 9 books and more than 350 technical papers on research topics ranging from patterns and optimization techniques to empirical analyses of software frameworks and domain-specific modeling environments. In addition to his extensive academic research and government service, he has more than fifteen years of experience leading the development of a number of widely used, open-source DRE middleware frameworks and model-driven tools.
