Vanderbilt names four new development officials

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Four new development officials have joined the staff of Vanderbilt University‘s Department of Development and Alumni Relations.

Kerry McCartney has joined Vanderbilt as associate dean of development and alumni relations for Peabody College, Vanderbilt‘s school of education and human development. Previously, McCartney was director of principal gifts for Harvey Mudd College in Claremont, Calif., where she was instrumental in the college reaching its fundraising goal in 2006, the highest in the history of the college. McCartney received her bachelor‘s of arts from Pitzer College in Claremont, her master‘s degree at the Claremont Graduate School and a doctorate of education from the University of California Los Angeles.

Beth Boord has joined Vanderbilt as assistant dean of development and alumni relations for the Divinity School and director of development for the Jean and Alexander Heard Library. Boord formerly served as director of advancement at The Harpeth Hall School, where she led the capital campaign to raise $44 million. Boord received her bachelor‘s degree from Hanover College in Indiana and has a master‘s of science in social work from the University of Tennessee.

Alyssa Wilcox has joined Vanderbilt University Law School as assistant dean for development and alumni relations for the law school. Wilcox formerly served as director of development at Purdue University‘s Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering, where she closed a commitment to enable the department to become a full-fledged school. Wilcox graduated from St. Mary‘s College in Notre Dame and has a master‘s of business administration from the University of Connecticut.

Liz Wilson has joined Vanderbilt as the executive director of The Vanderbilt Fund. Previously, she was associate director of development at the College of Arts and Architecture at Pennsylvania State University during six of the eight years that Penn State led the nation in alumni donors. She also was a part-time instructor of art history. Wilson has a bachelor‘s of fine arts from Lock Haven University in Pennsylvania and a master‘s of arts in art history from Penn State.
