NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Performers will write fresh material for every performance and the audience will help select what is presented during the run of dramablog: An Exploration of the Political and the Personal, the last show of the season by the Vanderbilt Department of Theatre.
The show opens at 8 p.m. on Friday, April 7. Other shows are at 8 p.m. April 8, 13, 14 and 15, and 2 p.m. on April 9. All performances are in Neely Auditorium on the Vanderbilt campus.
Admission is $8 for the general public, $5 for graduate and professional students, and free for undergraduates with Vanderbilt ID. Tickets may be reserved by calling 615-322-2404.
“The term ‘dramablog’ derives from an interest in personal opinion, personal expression and immediacy,” said Jeffrey Ullom, assistant professor of theatre and director of dramablog: An Exploration of the Political and the Personal. “Basically, I’m interested in providing a different theatrical experience for both our students and our audiences – breaking away from the age-old processes for rehearsal and production and trying to explore the potential of this form of theatre.”
