MEDIA ADVISORY: Former U.S. Sen. John Edwards, conservative journalist Peter Brimelow to speak at Vanderbilt University’s Impact Symposium March 20-21

Former U.S. senator and 2004 Democratic vice presidential candidate John Edwards and conservative journalist Peter Brimelow, known for his controversial writings on immigration policy, will deliver public lectures at Vanderbilt University March 20-21 as part of the university’s annual Impact Symposium.

The theme of this year’s lectures is “Disappearing Borders.” Brimelow will speak Monday, March 20, at 8 p.m. in Vanderbilt’s Langford Auditorium. Edwards will speak Tuesday, March 21, at 8 p.m. in Langford.

Both speakers are making themselves available to media prior to their lectures. Brimelow’s media availability will be held 7:30-7:45 p.m. on Monday, March 20, in Room 202 of Light Hall. Edwards’ media availability will be held 7:30-7:45 p.m. in the same location on Tuesday, March 21.

Media planning to attend the media availabilities and/or cover the lectures should contact Princine Lewis in the Vanderbilt News Service at 343-7288 by noon, Monday, March 20. Media must wear their organization’s credentials.

WHERE: The media availabilities will be held in Light Hall, Room 202. Light Hall is located adjacent to Langford Auditorium, off of Garland Avenue near Vanderbilt University Medical Center. The speakers’ lectures will be held in Langford Auditorium.
