MEDIA ADVISORY: Brazilian monetary policy the topic of the McGee Lecture at Vanderbilt

Marcelo Kfoury Muinhos, head of the research department at the Central Bank of Brazil, will deliver the McGee Lecture on “Monetary Policy in Brazil” on Nov. 3 at Vanderbilt University.

Muinhos began his career as an economist at the Central Bank of Brazil in 1992. A specialist in monetary economics and econometrics, he has taught at the Universidade de Brasilia and Universidade Catolica de Minas Gerias. At the Central Bank, he advises members of the executive policy board about inflation and related issues and coordinates the activities of research economists in each of the bank’s branches. He has constructs trade and macroeconomic models for use in policy simulations and forecasting.
