Women in the Round show set for June 18 at Vanderbilt Dyer Observatory, Ashley Cleveland, Karen Staley and Tricia Walker perform at Bluebird on the Mountain

NASHVILLE, Tenn. ñ Three-fourths of the original Women in the Round lineup at the Bluebird CafÈ will perform at the Vanderbilt Dyer Observatory as part of the Bluebird on the Mountain concert series.

Singer-songwriters Ashley Cleveland, Karen Staley and Tricia Walker will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday, June 18, at the scenic observatory grounds overlooking Nashville. Gates will open at 7 p.m. It is the second of five shows this summer and fall offered by the observatory in collaboration with the Bluebird CafÈ.

Tickets may be bought in advance for $55 per carload and at the door for $65. Cars may contain a maximum of eight people and no RV‘s or buses will be admitted.

Single tickets cost $17.50 in advance and $25 at the door.

Advance tickets may be purchased through Ticketmaster, which will add a handling fee. Tickets are limited and may run out before the day of the show. The concert will be held rain or shine.

Visitors are encouraged to pack a picnic and bring blankets and lawn chairs for comfort. The series is booked by Amy Kurland of the Bluebird CafÈ, a legendary Nashville listening room founded in 1982.

Walker, Staley and Cleveland ñ along with Pam Tillis ñ have been one of the Bluebird‘s most popular lineups over the years.

Cleveland has won two Grammy and two Dove awards, and has performed with Steve Winwood, Amy Grant, Etta James, Joe Cocker and others. Faith Hill, Dolly Parton and Terri Clark are among the many stars who‘ve recorded songs by Staley, who has recorded several albums. Alison Krauss‘ performance of Walker‘s “Looking in the Eyes of Love” won a Grammy. Her songs have been recorded by Patty Loveless, Faith Hill, Mel McDaniel, and she played in the band of Connie Smith for six years.

Each Bluebird on the Mountain concert ends with an invitation to stargaze using the observatory‘s Seyfert telescope.
