New sewer line to cause temporary road closure on Vanderbilt campus

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Starting June 28, a small portion of 25th Avenue
South, a major road that cuts through the Vanderbilt campus from West
End to Blakemore Avenue, will be closed for a little more than a week.
The closure is necessary to install a sewer line for Vanderbilt’s new
Student Life Center.

The section of the road between Kirkland Place and Vanderbilt Place
will remain closed to traffic until July 6. Soft barricades with detour
signs will be placed at West End and Jess Neely Drive to notify drivers
of the street closure. Signs will be posted at 25th and Blakemore and
25th and Highland to advise motorists to use Blakemore and 31st Avenue
for westbound traffic onto West End.
