Local pastor the recipient of Peabody College’s Changing Lives Award

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College of education and human development awarded its 2004 Changing Lives Award to the Rev. Enoch E. Fuzz, pastor of Nashville’s Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church, Friday, Jan. 23.

The 8th annual award ceremony was held at the Faye and Joe Wyatt Center Rotunda on the Peabody College campus. The annual award recognizes exceptional community service and coincides with Peabody’s commemoration of the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr.

"Through his work as a minister and a leader, Enoch Fuzz has long played an important role in supporting and strengthening Nashville’s African-American community. He has been invaluable in his efforts to foster safer and healthier neighborhoods in our city as a partner in the Vanderbilt University-North Nashville Community Outreach Partnership Center," said Camilla P. Benbow, the Patricia and Rodes Hart Dean of Education and Human Development at Peabody College.

Fuzz has served Corinthian Missionary Baptist since 1976. He is host of the radio talk show, "Just Talkin’," on WVOL 1470 AM and has served as an organizer of the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday March and Rally, the Nashville City Association Juneteenth Festival, African-American Church Day on Capitol Hill and the Women’s Day Health Forum.

He is president-elect of the Interdenominational Ministers Fellowship and a member of the Salvation Army Advisory Board, NAACP Executive Committee, General Hospital Community Advisory Committee, Health Disparities Coalition, the Tennessee Healthcare Campaign, and the Tomorrow’s Hope and Hadley Park Neighborhood Associations.
