Vanderbilt’s Owen School announces administrative changes

NASHVILLE, Tenn.óThe Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University has announced several new staff members in the MBA admissions office, Career Management Center and corporate relations office.

Dan Warner has joined the Owen School as the associate director of admissions and marketing. His responsibilities at the Owen School include recruiting students, and he also serves on the school’s admissions board. Warner earned his bachelor’s degree in secondary social science education from Boston University and has spent the past 14 years working in undergraduate admissions at Boston University.

John Roeder also has joined the Owen School as an associate director of admissions and marketing. He is a recent graduate of Southern Methodist University’s Cox School of Business, where he earned an MBA in marketing. Roeder formerly directed Southern Methodist University’s national recruiting efforts, which led the university to its highest enrollment in 22 years. He was employed as a change management consultant for Andersen Business Consulting and led management training courses for partners and managers in Asia, Australia, Africa, Europe and North America.

Donna Steiling has joined the Owen School as assistant director of recruiting and operations in the school’s Career Management Center. Her responsibilities include managing recruiting partnerships, producing Career Management Center publications, overseeing daily on-campus recruiting activity, coordinating the Owen School’s recruiting consortia and conferences and maintaining the CMC OwenNet, the school’s intranet site. She has a bachelor’s degree in broadcasting and journalism from Belmont University. Prior to joining the Owen School, she served as a news and information officer at Belmont University and as a public affairs coordinator at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.

Cindy Matheny has joined the Owen School as the program manager and assistant to the associate dean of corporate relations. In this position, she assists with identifying corporate affiliates and prospects, developing solicitation strategies and planning corporate events. Prior to joining the Owen School, Matheny worked for 10 years in internal customer relations with S&A Restaurant Corp. and for three years in marketing and customer service with an international management consulting and training company. Matheny has a bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Tusculum College and a master’s of education from Shippensburg University.
