Vanderbilt University School of Nursing Welcomes Members of the Metro Public Health Department to Train First Year Students in Smallpox Vaccination
The Vanderbilt University School of Nursing is teaming up with the Metro Public Health Department to train 120 first year nursing students in the community health program on how to perform smallpox vaccinations. Students will not be performing actual vaccinations during training, but will use a simulated method. The training will allow students to be called upon to assist the Health Department if there were ever a smallpox outbreak in Nashville.
