Owen School announces administrative changes

NASHVILLE, Tenn.–The Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University has announced several new staff members in its information services department and at the school’s Walker Management Library.

Erin Chaney has joined the Owen School as a systems analyst. In this capacity, she will develop customized Web-to-database applications for the school. Chaney comes to Owen from Heidelberg, Germany, where she served as an Army computer contractor for the chief of staff intelligence at the European headquarters. She received her bachelor’s degree in computer management information systems from the University of Maryland.

Shirl Kennedy has been named electronic resources librarian in the school’s Walker Management Library. In this capacity, she will be responsible for the library’s website and online databases, and she will act as a business reference librarian. Most recently, Kennedy worked as the Web guide manager at Business 2.0 magazine. She is also the author of Best Bet Internet: Reference & Research When you Don’t Have Time to Mess Around. Kennedy earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Philadelphia University and her master’s degree in library and information science from the University of South Florida.

Marie Swearingen has also joined the Walker Management Library as manager of circulation services. Swearingen comes to the Owen School from Syracuse University, where she headed the library’s reserve department and its interlibrary loan express service. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Draughons College and is working toward a business degree at Syracuse University.
