Nashville, TN–The Department of Cultural Enrichment at Vanderbilt University Medical Center is pleased to announce The Featured Works of Herb Alpert in conjunction with Brain Awareness month at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Herb Alpert, the legendary musician is also renown for his abstract, acrylic paintings which reference musical themes of rhythm, harmony and improvisation. This exhibit is on display Feb. 28–April 15, the Mezzanine Gallery located in the Vanderbilt Hospital lobby located at 1211 22nd Ave. S.
On March 13 at 7 p.m. the Department of Neuropsychology will present Dr. Robert Zatorre speaking on "Music and the Brain" at Vanderbilt Blair School of Music’s Turner Recital Hall. Zatorre will discuss how the human brain allows us to perceive, understand, remember and imagine music.
