Nashville, Tenn. — What is the difference between a violin and a fiddle? Find out as Crystal Plohman, protégé of Mark OConnor and director of the fiddle program at Vanderbilts Blair School of Music, leads a team featuring Vassar Clements and other acclaimed fiddle masters in a series of workshops and concerts at the Summer Fiddle Camp at Vanderbilt July 28-August 3.
Participants range from young Suzuki Method students and fiddle hobbyists to professional violinists expanding their technique and repertoire.
Celtic, bluegrass, Texas swing, rock and classical applications will be explored in camp workshops for all ages and virtuosities and in concerts by students and the master fiddlers.
