In February, Vanderbilt baseball became the first men’s team in school history to open the season as No. 1 in the nation. USA Today, Baseball America, Collegiate Baseball, D1Baseball.com, the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and Perfect Game all had the Commodores atop their preseason rankings. The recognition means that for the fourth time in the last five seasons, the squad has spent time in the top spot of the polls.
