Metro health director discusses healthy living efforts with Peabody class

Dr. Bill Paul, executive director of the Metro Nashville Health Department, said what’s really harming us is our unhealthy behavior, not lack of health care. Paul spoke to Professor Sharon Shields’ “Health Service Delivery to Diverse Populations” class and others in Mayborn Hall on Nov. 2.

Father of Liberation Theology visits Vanderbilt on 40th anniversary of movement Nov. 8

Liberation theology, which places a strong emphasis on Christian churches aiding the poor and oppressed through political and civic involvement, began in the 1960s in Latin America. Gutiérrez, a Roman Catholic theologian and Dominican priest, is widely considered to be the father of the movement.
