Six alumni who worked in student media and then distinguished themselves through a variety of careers – including cardiologist, journalist, author and broadcast executive – will be inducted into the Vanderbilt Student Media Hall of Fame on Oct. 22.
The winner of this year’s House Organ contest for fiction is Mandy Haynes-Bailey of the Pediatric Echo Lab for her story “The Day I Threw the Rock,” a remembrance by a young girl with a great pitching arm who comes to the rescue of a friend. There were nearly 50 entries to the Writing Contest this year.
During this difficult rebuilding time in Nashville, Books from Birth is asking for help. Their Flood Relief Book Drive presents an opportunity to donate gently used books that can be distributed to children that need them.

Vanderbilt is pleased to announce the creation of an assessment website (www.vanderbilt.edu/assessment), designed to aid the novice as well as the seasoned professional in designing and implementing an assessment plan and subsequently, analyzing and reporting data.
