Impact of Recovery Act funds profound for VU

During the past 18 months, scientists at Vanderbilt University have received $148 million under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) to buy major equipment, hire additional staff and accelerate their research.

Nurses at the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt are able to spend more time at patients’ bedsides after a yearlong initiative reinforced the hospital’s focus on patient-centered care.
