Benefits Open Enrollment: myVU will break it down

The annual benefits Open Enrollment period for Vanderbilt’s benefits-eligible faculty and staff will be here soon. Open Enrollment is Oct. 1–15, 2010, and there are a lot of changes to communicate this year.

Sarratt Student Center unveils new look

Sarratt Student Center has undergone a sleek new makeover over the summer, resulting in a more welcoming and functional space for faculty, staff and students to gather.

Come to Employee Tailgate Sept. 4

Employee Tailgate is open to all regular faculty and staff and their families. Enjoy a picnic lunch and family fun before the football game with Northwestern.

Sixth season of International Lens series begins Aug. 28

International Lens, the ongoing film series at Vanderbilt University, will feature films from around the world during the fall 2010 semester. Most screenings are free and open to the public. This semester’s lineup opens with a crime thriller from Hong Kong, includes a U.S. documentary about the legalities surrounding music sampling and the Oscar-winning The Hurt Locker.

September is full of free concerts at Blair

The Fall 2010 Concert Season at Blair School of Music continues a tradition of excellence for a new decade in the exquisite Ingram Hall and the renovated Turner Recital Hall.

The Division of Sponsored Research received notification in July of grants in excess of $25,000 awarded to Vanderbilt faculty

Aspirnauts landing on campus this fall

Three high school students from rural Arkansas selected for a project to elevate science and math achievement among students in rural communities are now rising freshmen at Vanderbilt.

One Hundred Oaks and The Commons Center recognized with Urban Land Institute award

The Vanderbilt Health/One Hundred Oaks facility was honored for its adaptive reuse of space and The Commons Center was lauded for its achievements in green development.

FROM ATHLETICS: Holly Clark named WG assistant

Vanderbilt head coach Greg Allen has named Holly Clark to an assistant coach position with the Commodore women’s golf team. Clark replaces Nicki Cutler, who was named as the head coach at Princeton University earlier this summer. Clark began the Carson Newman golf program in January of 2008 as the team’s first head coach, and helped lead the Lady Eagles to their first NCAA Regional appearance in 2010 and the South Atlantic Conference Championship in their first year of existence in 2009.
