Journalists break down presidential race at Chancellor’s Lecture Series event

Chancellor Nicholas S. Zeppos, Distinguished Visiting Professor Jon Meacham and political journalists Peggy Noonan and Eugene Robinson discussed the 2016 election cycle before a near-capacity crowd in Langford Auditorium Sept. 14.


 
 

Chancellor’s Town Hall will discuss ETOB budgeting system Friday

Chancellor Nicholas S. Zeppos will host a town hall meeting on Friday, Sept. 16, beginning at 10:10 a.m. in Sarratt Cinema. The topic of the meeting will be implementing Vanderbilt’s ETOB budgeting system within schools.

How do we deal with loss? How do we deal with survival amid loss? Vanderbilt’s annual Holocaust lecture series, now in its 39th year, is the longest-running program of its kind at any university in the United States. This year’s theme is “Rituals of Memory and Oblivion.”


 
 

Chaplain’s Speaker Series to discuss faith and politics Thursday

The Chaplain’s Speaker Series will present “Public Faith in Action: How to Think Carefully, Engage Wisely and Vote with Integrity” featuring Yale Divinity professor Miroslav Volf on Thursday, Sept. 15. His talk will begin at 7 p.m. in Benton Chapel.

A project to install a new gas turbine at Vanderbilt’s co-generation power plant will close a portion of 24th Avenue South adjacent to the power plant beginning Monday, Sept. 19.

The Vanderbilt University Police Department is teaming up with Metro Police to offer a free teen driver course Oct. 29 at Vanderbilt Health One Hundred Oaks. Teens ages 14-18 may participate.
