Mellon Foundation awards $1.5 million to Vanderbilt for new Center for Digital Humanities

Vanderbilt University has received a $1.5 million grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation to establish a new Center for Digital Humanities. The trans-institutional initiative will further Vanderbilt’s commitment to becoming a national hub of innovative digital humanities scholarship.

AlertVU test rescheduled for Wednesday

Vanderbilt will conduct a test of its AlertVU emergency notification system on Wednesday, March 30, at 2 p.m. The test is rescheduled from last week, when the threat of severe weather on March 24 necessitated its postponement.

The Center for Latin American Studies and the Peabody College Department of Teaching and Learning will welcome Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Sonia Nazario to Nashville March 29-30. Nazario will speak about her book "Enrique’s Journey" as well as current issues regarding immigration.

Golf tournament April 14 will benefit Susan Gray School

The fifth annual Susan Gray School Golf Tournament is scheduled for Thursday, April 14, at Vanderbilt Legends Club in Franklin. All proceeds raised will benefit the school, the first nationally recognized early intervention program to include typically developing children in education settings alongside children with disabilities.
