Amy Johnson named assistant provost for immersion and experiential learning; Jill Stratton to focus on residential colleges
 
Amy Johnson has been named assistant provost for immersion and experiential learning at Vanderbilt University and will begin her new role on July 15. Jill Stratton also will assume a new role at Vanderbilt as assistant provost for residential education and associate dean for residential colleges, effective July 1.

Vanderbilt beats Stanford at College World Series to keep season alive; next game today at 1 p.m.
 
Down 5-4 with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Commodores scratched across two runs—the final one coming on a wild pitch—to defeat Stanford 6-5 in an elimination game at the College World Series in Omaha on Wednesday. Vanderbilt survives to face North Carolina State at 1 p.m. CT on Friday.

Vanderbilt University is taking part in the COVID-19 College Vaccine Challenge, which was recently launched by the White House to increase vaccine access and distribution among students and their communities.

Staff and postdocs: Submit vaccination records by July 19 to be eligible for $1,000 prize drawing
 
COVID-19 vaccinations will be required for all members of the Vanderbilt community for the 2021–22 academic year. To thank those who submit their vaccination records early, the Division of Administration will conduct a drawing for 25 Vanderbilt University-employed staff and postdocs who submit their records to the university’s vaccine portal by 8 a.m. on July 19.
