VU receives Gates grant to develop mosquito repellent device for wrist

Vanderbilt biologist Laurence Zwiebel has received a Gates Foundation Grand Challenges Exploration grant to devise a wristband device that creates a personal "no-fly zone" offering protection from mosquitoes.

Commodores are College World Series bound

Vanderbilt clinched a return trip to the College World Series with a 4-2 win over Illinois Monday afternoon. They will next meet Cal State Fullerton at 7 p.m. Sunday in Omaha. In addition, a trio of Commodores were selected in the first round of the MLB draft, including No. 1 overall pick Dansby Swanson.
