Do you have a loved one with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia? Are you looking for ways to communicate when words are lost? If so, you may have already found you are connecting through tone of voice, facial expression and body language more than through talking and listening.

If you’d like to learn more about communicating with your loved one as he or she progresses through the stages of Alzheimer’s or dementia, attend the Vanderbilt Child and Family Center’s lunch and learn on July 20 from noon to 1 p.m. in Medical Center East, Room 8380A. Feel free to bring your lunch.

Tiffany Cloud-Mann, vice president of programs for the Alzheimer’s Association, will discuss strategies for how to communicate with someone in each stage of Alzheimer’s or dementia and how to interpret verbal and behavioral messages.

For more information, visit the Vanderbilt Child and Family website or contact Stacey Bonner, family services coordinator, at stacey.l.bonner@vanderbilt.edu or 615-936-1990.
