AD&D insurance includes travel assistance benefit

If you signed up for $10,000 or more of Accidental Death and Dismemberment insurance during your new hire period or Open Enrollment (14 cents per month in payroll premiums), we have good news for you. Your coverage includes MetLife‘s Travel Assistance, which can help you in a domestic or international travel emergency.

Administered by AXA Assistance, USA, Inc., the benefit provides medical, legal and financial assistance for international travel or domestic trips more than 100 miles from home, including:

medical referrals and appointments with English-speaking doctors, dentists and specialists (more than 600,000 pre-qualified providers in more than 238 countries);

  • hospital admission validation;
  • air and ground ambulance service and emergency evacuation back to the United States;
  • trained multilingual personnel who can advise and assist you in a travel emergency;
  • repatriation benefit;
  • return of mortal remains; and
  • lost document and luggage assistance.

The maximum benefit amount is 100 percent of covered expenses up to $200,000 per eligible person per trip. Learn more in the MetLife Travel Assistance brochure.

Next time you have the opportunity to enroll in AD&D insurance (during Open Enrollment or if you experience a Life Event), think about the additional value you will receive for just 14 cents per month.
