Students, colleagues, family and friends of the late Bob Birkby are invited to a memorial celebration on Friday, April 15, in The Commons Center.
Birkby taught in the Vanderbilt Department of Political Science for the better part of four decades, and was awarded emeritus status in 2000. He died March 14.
The memorial will start at 4 p.m. in Room 237 of The Commons Center, also known as the Multipurpose Room. Parking will be available in Lot 77 at the corner of 18th Avenue South and Horton Avenue.
The event will not be a traditional memorial. Instead, friends and colleagues of Birkby are invited to gather and share their favorite Birkby stories.
