Vanderbilt University Plant Operations was host of the fifth annual SEC Chief Facilities Officers Meeting held Feb. 24-26 in Nashville. The meeting convenes chief facilities officers from Southeastern Conference universities to discuss the latest topics in facilities management and share best practices with the goal of providing the best possible service to their respective institutions. The event is sponsored by facilities asset adviser Sightlines.

In addition to Vanderbilt, representatives from 11 other SEC schools were in attendance, including Auburn, Arkansas, Florida, Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Kentucky, Mississippi, Mississippi State, LSU and Texas A&M.

Vice Chancellor for Administration Eric Kopstain welcomed the group and provided remarks. In addition to participating in discussion sessions, the group toured the Vanderbilt campus to learn more about the university’s history, architecture and the trees that compose Vanderbilt’s national arboretum. They also toured the construction site for the new Engineering and Science Building.
