Vanderbilt’s Athletic Hall of Fame Dinner scheduled for Jan. 22 has been postponed due to weather and safety concerns.
“This was a complicated decision and we sought input from various campus and city officials before making it,” said Vanderbilt spokesman Rod Williamson. “Nashville Mayor Megan Barry is urging citizens to stay off the roadways and we agree and will comply as we do not want to risk the safety of anyone that was planning to attend. We realize some people have already arrived in the city but there are others contemplating travel and safety has to be our foremost factor.”
The committee plans to reschedule the dinner at a later date, one which will require further consideration to identify the best option. That information will be conveyed when details are clear.
