Camp Vandy (Vanderbilt University)

The Vanderbilt Recreation and Wellness Center is offering December youth swim clinics and Holiday CampVandy to provide a fun and active holiday break for area youth.

VRWC youth programs are designed to help your child learn, grow and stay fit. We provide a safe, secure and unique opportunity for children to learn valuable skills while making new friends through themed programs that are challenging, educational and fun.

Registration is open for both Holiday CampVandy and the Vanderbilt Acorns December swim clinics. Reserve your spot now before they’re gone.

VRWC is offering Holiday CampVandy Dec. 21–22 and Dec. 28–30 for ages 4–13. Each day features special winter-themed camp activities.

The Nashville community can sign up for CampVandy at $195/week. However, Vanderbilt employees and Vanderbilt Recreation and Wellness Center members receive a special CampVandy price of $165/week. A daily rate of $65 is available for both community members and Vanderbilt-affiliated patrons.

Camp runs Monday–Tuesday of the first week and Monday–Wednesday of the second week from 9 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. each day. Early care is available from 7 to 8:30 a.m., and after care is available from 4:15 to 6 p.m. for an additional charge.

New this winter is the Vanderbilt Acorns December swim clinics Dec. 21–22 and 28–30. December swim clinics are for swimmers 4–18 years old looking to enhance or learn new skills during their winter break.

Morning clinics will focus on stroke technique, while afternoon clinics will focus on endurance. These clinics are open to both registered Acorns swim team members as well as participants who are not a member of the swim team.

Beginner-level swimmers must be able to swim 25 yards of freestyle unassisted. Clinic times are 9:30–10 a.m. and 4:30–5 p.m.

Intermediate swimmers must be proficient in all four strokes. Clinic times are 9:15–10:00 a.m. and 4:15–5 p.m.

Advanced swimmers are those who have had previous swim team experience and are looking for extra training to improve fitness and technique. Clinic times are 9–10 a.m. and 4–5 p.m.

Pricing is broken down by the number of sessions you purchase per swimmer. For a five-session package that includes one morning or afternoon clinic each day, non-Acorn participants pay $90, while Acorn swim team members pay $85. For a ten-session package that includes participation in both morning and afternoon clinics each day, non-Acorn participants pay $150 and Acorn swim team members pay $140.
