Television viewers in Middle Tennessee will begin to see new messages from Vanderbilt University Medical Center this week that build upon the “Promise of Discovery” theme to describe the Medical Center’s work and mission.

The messages will air on broadcast television throughout Middle Tennessee as well as cable news, sports and lifestyle programming, such as CNN, Fox, MSNBC, ESPN, HGTV and the Food Network.

These messages go beyond the promise of personalized medicine for which VUMC has built a strong and unique reputation and tell the story of promises made and kept by every individual at Vanderbilt:

  • by the researcher asking and answering important questions that will save and improve lives;
  • by the doctor, nurse and staff member who are living our Patient and Family Promise every day; and
  • by the educator who teaches and inspires the next generation of health care providers and scientists.

While these messages are new, they reflect core values of Vanderbilt that shape the daily lives of staff and faculty: innovation, collaboration, personalization, and the belief that “it is who we still are.”

You can see the first of these messages on YouTube, and they can be shared on Facebook, Twitter and other social media. Additional videos will be added to the YouTube channel as they become available.
